Hello Nils how are you doing?I’m fine thank you. Busy as hell as always! Please tell us something about your hometown?I was born in a city called “La Garenne-Colombes”. It’s about 15-20 min to Paris by train and I grew up between there and Saint Malo in Brittany. Fun fact, Saint Malo was the Pirate and Corsair place of Europe during the Pirate golden years and Napoleon wars. How is the metal scene in your area? How did you became a „metalhead”, „Metal Musician”It’s totally shit haha! France is not a Metal country even if we have bands like Gojira and Hellfest. Maybe after the Olympics Games it’s gonna be better but I’m very skeptical about that! That’s why I’m the only French in the band.At school nobody was listening to that kind of music, we were maybe 5 or 6 and that’s it. I’ve been introduced to this music with my uncle. He was a huge fan of Iron Maiden and Helloween. Everything started with him when I was a child. I remember watching the VHS of Maiden England so many times with him! How did the band got started?I always wanted to play Heavy and Power Metal. My first serious band was T.A.N.K (Think Of A New Kind) then I joined SIRENIA and more recently DROPDEAD CHAOS. But this is not Power Metal haha and after so many years playing Death Metal, Nu Metal and Symphonic Metal (which I enjoyed and still enjoy a lot for SIRENIA AND DROPDEAD CHAOS) I decided to start my own band because I had the feeling that It was the right time because of the COVID but also because I had the feeling that I had enough contact and experiences to do it. The bandmembers are from various countries; France, Italy, Greece, UK and different bands. How you Guys handle everything? We’re working via Internet, we’re doing some meetings via zoom or skype to discuss about the progress of the band and when it will be the time to go on tour/fest, we’ll met in Italy or France to rehearse all together for like 2 or 3 days in live condition then we’ll be ready to kick some asses. Where is the album all about, lyrically i mean?To be honest I’m really influenced by the actual situation of the world. I asked my friend, Johann Cadot to help me work on the lyrics and we worked together on the vocals lines. The reason is that I’m not a lyricist and I preferred to get some help for that. I was alone when I started to work on this project and I wanted to have some demos with lyrics before sending invitations to join the band. After the pandemic I got a kind of repulsion for what our world has become. That’s why you can feel this anger in our lyrics. In general, the idea was that the Bloodorn is like a Reaper a monster ready to kill and destroy everything in his path haha! I love Assassin’s Creed and it’s like The Bloodorn is a monster and we’re his hunters bringing him every asshole on our way to be butchered by the beast. Please tell us about the bands first album; „Let the Fury Rise”. The writing process, time in the studio, how the fans and press received the albumI had this project in mind for many years and I just wanted to wait for the right moment to start the machine. Michael (Sirenia Drummer) and I had been talking about making something together since 2018-2019 so the drummer choice was already fixed. Then I met Francesco (Freedom Call bas player) on the road, he’s a super nice guy and after a few months of working on the first demo I contacted him and he was very interested in the project. The main issue was the voice but I finally found THE voice I was looking for by discovering Mike Livas on youtube. It seems that this album did a decent “buzz” because of the mix between the Power Metal, Modern Metal and Extreme Metal elements I added in our music. It’s more than positive for 98% the rest are 1% of smart people who don’t like this music which is something I can totally understand and of course a few haters but they can kiss my ass 🙂 Is the band going to play live?Sure! First step was the label, then now the booking is our priority, unfortunately the “Supergroup” with busy musicians + newcomer statut is not really helpful… As I said to all of the journalists, BLOODORN IS NOT A SIDE PROJECT!!! So book us for fuck sakes! haha How you got in contact with Reaper Entertainment?Because I follow Christian (Ex Twilight Force and Final Strike) on social media and I saw that Final Strike signed a deal with them. I checked how they were working and I knew that they were the perfect label for the band. They did an amazing job so far and we’re really happy of their job! What are Some of your own favorite bands/Artists?Iron Maiden, Edguy, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Fleshgod Apocalypse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Children Of Bodom, Obscura, Rhapsody and Symphony X. How things are going with Serenia, Where you play the guitar too? It’s cool, 1977 our last album got a very nice welcome and we’re going on tour in November with Xandria (Co Headline) . Do you have a last word to the readers of Bonavox? Thanks for the interview, we hope that you liked the album and we hope to see you all on the road soon! Thanks Thanks to: Reaper Entertainment, The Rock Online, Theo Samson
